Ahsan Jamil is an entrepreneur with a strong social investing track record in both education and health. He was the Country CEO (Pakistan) of a large multi-country Healthcare Fund for 2 years. He was a co-founder of The Aman Foundation and its CEO for 7 years. Here he helped set up Amantech, Teach for Pakistan and Aman Sports as a founding Chairman respectively and Injaaz Pakistan as a founding director.
Additionally, he set up Aman Health which included the award-winning Aman ambulance and Aman Telehealth services as well as some international mental health programs. Prior to that he was a founder director of Ecopack Limited, where he worked for 17 years, the last 7 years as its CEO. In his initial years he worked at Unilever Pakistan, Chase Manhattan Bank, Pakistan and E.F Hutton on Wall Street, USA. Ahsan has a Bachelors’ degree in Math-Economics from Reed College, USA.
He has a post graduate diploma in Counseling and Addiction Alleviation. He serves on the Boards of the Karachi Sports Foundation, the ICare Foundation and the Acumen Fund Advisory board, having also spent two terms on the British Overseas School board.
Has been in early childhood education for the last 25 years, working initially with Bay View Academy running their Nursery Section and then set up her own pre-school “Whizzkids” and successfully ran it for 20 years.
As an experienced Early Years practitioner, she recognizes the importance of the formative years providing the base for averting later challenges.
Gulnar received her initial training from the Montessori Association Internationale and further trained in Learning Disabilities from the Hornsby Centre in London, U.K. She subsequently did a British Dyslexia Association specialization and became an associate member of BDA
Aspy Bhathena is the Board Member of Ubuntu Care pvt ltd. and a Graduate Chartered Accountant with extensive Financial and General Management experience in the private sector. Having held senior management positions in leading Multi National & International companies in the UK and USA. Ayesha Khan is the Sponsor Director at Ubuntu, and also serves as a Director and Senior Researcher at the Collective for Social Science Research, one of the premier research institutes in Pakistan. She is author of The Women’s Movement in Pakistan: Activism, Islam and Democracy (2018). Her research interests include gender and development, social policy and conflict/refugee issues in the region. Ayesha conducts policy advocacy for the rights of children in Sindh and adolescent reproductive rights, amongst other human rights issues, and led a comprehensive data gathering study in 2012 on child protection laws, policies and programs in Pakistan. She has served on the governing bodies of leading non- governmental organizations working on women’s issues, and is currently a board member of Aahung, a sexual and reproductive health organization distinguished for its contribution to bringing life-skills based education curriculum to schools for the first time. She is currently Visiting Faculty at the Institute for Business Administration, Karachi University.
